Mambo101 Dance Studio is owned and operated by Omar Martinez. It is one of the leading schools in the tri-state area. We have been featured twice in the New York Daily News, the New York Post as well as performing for the UNIVISION morning show and New York Puerto Rican Day Parade. Our school has had the pleasure of performing for Conjuncto Imagen, Larry Harlow, Tito Rojas, Hector Tricoche and Tito Nieves, El Canario, El Gran Combo De Puerto Rico, Gilberto Santa Rosa, Victor Manuelle, Domingo Quiñones and Tony Vega on the world famous Salsacruise.

Our Studio offers Salsa/Mambo On 2 classes which is also known as “New York Style Salsa”. The studio is located in the heart of the Fordham Road shopping district and is easily accessible by public transportation and vehicle.

What sets us apart from other schools is many schools hold multiple classes sometimes up to THREE classes in one room going on at the same time! We offer 2 separate studios for your learning experience. One of the studios even has a shower for those who wish to freshen up after working up a sweat during class.

Mambo101’s staff is fully trained to teach and breakdown Men and Womens steps for our students. Our instructors will take the time to make sure that you learn in a comfortable stress free and friendly environment.

No partners are required! All classes are held in a group setting. Each couple will rotate as each step is taught. We believe this will help you learn how to lead and follow with multiple partners. During the “partner work” section of the class, the instructor will also focus on timing and form. All of this will be happening while you are not only having fun but getting in some cardio and excercise at the same time.

Although many studio’s offer a per class fee, we do not believe in this method of teaching. The per class fee method usually brings on an influx of different people coming in all the time. We start off with a group and an instructor. These are the same people you will see in each of the classes you take. You will become comfortable with your fellow students and have the opportunity to build friendships and practice partners.
